Bedrooms

The den...now this lovely room was quite the suprise. The wallpaper you see is the TOP layer, there was another one underneath, and then there was a nice layer of paint...I'll get a picture of that...lovely flowers and all!
Master bedroom...ahh the lace curtains.
The other bedroom...I need a better picture of it. This one is the nightmare room. There are 2 layers of wallpaper as well, but both are very hard to get off...we've been putting this room off as long as we can!
My master closet...looks smaller than it is in this picture...there are tons of shelves on the left there.

The kitchen

Our lovely balcony...notice the beautiful fabric along the railing...isn't it beautiful??
The kitchen. The cupboards are bleached from the sun, but notice the wallpaper...butterflies!
Again, the butterflies!
Nice little desk, the shelf is removable, and will be removed, along with the table and chair, and phone...all little gifts left for us!

The front room

Here is the door way leading into the kitchen

Just a little nook, and the ONLY walls in the house that were NOT wallpapered.
The front entry. Ahhh...the lovely vines!
Nice fireplace
The bay window at the front of the house

Freedom!!!!

Well I've been catching a lot of flack for not updating my blog. I've been a huge slacker lately, I admit it...and it's not like nothing's been going on, there has been tons, but I've still be slacking. Maybe it's the overwhelming amount of stuff that I get so busy that there's no time to update. Yes, that must be it! Well since I posted last, I'll give you a little overview.

We went to General Conference in Utah because Dad got called to be a new Area Seventy. It was very exciting, and he's been thrilled with his opportunities so far. We are so proud of him, and so happy for him too! Then after that, since it was a good time to have Luke's blessing, the whole family made their way to Denver. All I have to say about that is that I would move there in a second. We LOVED Denver. Luke's blessing was wonderful, and it was so nice to have the entire family together...but we're being overrun with children...soon they will outnumber the adults...that's a scary thought. But they're all so cute, we'll go ahead and keep them!

Then we were home to continue our search for a new home. Well, we found one. So, we're moving and selling our condo. Since the prices of homes is so horrible here, we found a bi-level split with a walkout basement, and tons of natural light down there, and we're putting in a kitchen, and buying the house with Jeffrey and Emily, and Kevin. So we're living upstairs, and Jeffrey and Emily are downstairs. We love the house, except for one minor issue, it's COVERED in wallpaper!! So Emily and I have some serious work to do!!! And I'll have the time, because I've quit my job at the dental office...only for a month, and then I'll find another one, but it's going to be so nice to have the time to fix the house! We take possession on Tuesday, so that's crazy! But I'm soo excited to have more space! Another bedroom, a kitchen with windows, hardwood, 2 bay windows...ahhh...it's going to be awesome!

Lastly, we're hoping to get away to the condo for the long weekend...I love the May long weekend! It's the kick off to my favorite time of year! We're just hoping that we can get things with the house squared away, or we might not be able to go at all. So keep your fingers crossed that our house sells! Other than all of that, Michael and I are doing great! He's working landscaping for the summer again, and importing cars from the States, so I'll enjoy my month off while I send him to work everyday. Poor guy, but hey, I did it for a few years so he can have a small turn! I'll get some pictures of the new house...I want everyone to see the wallpaper I'm talking about! But, we'll fix it, and it'll be wonderful!

The best news of all!

So, after all the new information, I thought I'd put at the top of the list...the birth of my newest nephew. Luke Thomas Christensen. He's the first of my sister Kerri and her husband Cade, and he's adorable. I think he looks just like his mom. We're all heading down to Conference, and then to Denver for his blessing, so I can't wait to meet in a little over a week. Congrats you guys! We can't wait to meet him!

So, Heather and Gannon took great care of us while we were in Portland right after California. They fed us like kings, and really pulled out all the stops to make the trip awesome. One night they decided to make some Jack Daniels bbq sauce for the pulled pork they were making (yummmm). Anyway, Michael and Gannon went to get us some Jack Daniels, and when they got home with the tiniest little bottle I've ever seen, we thought it would be funny to see what Nixon made of it. Here he is as the little Jack Daniels spokesperson!
Taking a sip (Of course, the bottle is completely sealed...we're not that horrible)
And another...
Feeing pretty good
After a few too many sips...

We laughed so hard when we saw how the pictures turned out...of course Nixon had no idea what it was, nor did he have a drop, but it's like he knew what faces to make to create such a perfect little story. Funny boy!

Disneyland-It really is the happiest place on earth!

Disneyland 2007
Well I had a week off at the end of February, so Michael and I decided to get away. We set off to California to buy a car, but also to have some fun! And fun we did have. The ultimate highlight of the trip was Disneyland. I don't know what it is about that place, but I honestly feel like I'm 10 again, and I'm so in love with it, I wish we could have stayed for a week, but one did held us over for the next few years. We stayed our first night in a little hotel right across the street from the park, so the next morning we could get right over there. We got to go on just about every ride, eat a huge turkey leg (it was amazing!), meet a bunch of characters, and basically have the best time ever. Just as I predicted, the best ride of the day was the Indiana Jones ride. We loved it. I had told Michael that it was the best, and he wasn't disappointed. We really need to go there again asap!

Universal Studios

Universal Studios 2007
So we also hit up Universal Studios, and we must have picked the perfect day, because it was pretty empty, but that only meant no waiting for us. It was a blast! It wasn't as big as I remember it being when I was there as a kid, but we still had a great time. The Jurassic Park, and Mummy rides were the highlight, and we went on each a few times! The studio tour was also awesome! We got some fun footage of it all, and with Michael's commentary on it all, it really is pretty funny. But, we mus have brought the cold with us because it was FREEZING. Honestly, that happens to me everywhere I go. The cold follows me I swear.

Hollywood!!

On our way home from Universal, we decided to stop and see some sights. We were driving down Hollywood Blvd, and there were a bunch of people on the sidewalk looking at something, so as we drive past we try to see what it is, and there he is...John Travolta. It was the premiere of Wild Hogs! So, we drove around trying to park as fast as we could, and we got there in time to see John Travolta, and his wife, and we also saw Tim Allen, but not good enough that we could get a picture. But, it was pretty awesome! Then we walking all over looking at the stars, and the sights to see. It was pretty cool to see it all!

Hollywood

A few new changes

Well, we've made some changes around the house lately (and when I say lately, I really mean a long time ago, I just haven't blogged them) and we really like them all! We got the tv for Christmas, and the couches were a hand me down from Kevin and Cyndi, and we are both in love with them. They are so cozy compared to leather, and I was very glad to see the colors all worked out. You can't be picky when you're getting something for free, but it's also an added bonus when it look alright! The computer desk is from Lara and Sean again, and really nice to have. It looks a lot better than what we had before! The other new little area is my vinyl working spot. We got a folding table from Costco, and I got myself all set up with a nice little working station. It's nice to have all of the stuff in the same spot, and be able to come in a work on it whenever I can. Although, it's also nicer to have Heather here working on it with me, but what can ya do?

Second Hand shoppers!

For those of you who don't know us very well, you might be interested to know that our house is pretty much all second hand stuff from Lara. We were blessed when we first got married to get a whole bunch of stuff they didn't need anymore. So we got a king size bed, end tables for our bed, a huge black armoir, end tables for the living room, a coffee table, and two computer desks. We also got our couches from Sean's parents. We seriously scored in the not having to buy stuff department. Then, we also got a second tv, and tv stand. When Sean redid the office we also got this beauty. I love it! It was in his office and when they took it out and had nothing to do with it, I piped right up and volunteered. It's now happily in my bedroom!! This past weekend, we also found out that we can have another computer desk (this one is the one to replace all others!), and a laser printer! So, we just have to go pick it up, and we're so set it's awesome!! Thanks to the Freibergs for letting us live your life 11 years later!

The February birthdays!

This month, Dad and Erin both had their birthdays, and since Mom and Dad were going to be away for Erin's, we sort of combined the two. Dad had a big one! 60 years! So, as a little joke, he got 60 of different things from all of us. He got 60 diet pops, 60 loonies (for his 72 hour kit), 60 kisses with Almonds, 60 valentines suckers, and I got him 60 pictures of his family in a little album. We all shared memories we have of him, and luckily we got it on tape because they were all really special! Overall...it was a a nice evening. Mom made a wonderful dinner, and delicious cheesecake to top it off!

My Birthday- The big 25

Here are some pictures from my birthday! We had dinner at mom's house (pot roast with potatoes and carrots...mmmmmm.....and Dairy Queen Ice Cream Cake...my fav). We then opened presents and played around with the kiddies!

Put it in Writing

Check out the blog for Put it in Writing for some ready to buy boards and things that Heather and I have been making, and stay tuned for the details about the party.

Long time

Wow, it really has been a while since I posted. I feel like the time has flown because I've been super busy. I had my birthday on Jan 14th. I hit 25...that's old! We had a big family party at my moms and it was nice to just be around everyone. Other than that, Heather and I have spent most of our time just getting this vinyl stuff going. I actually really love it, and if I could do it full time, I'd be a happy camper. Michael's been going to Vegas a bunch to get going on importing cars, so I've spent some weekends (like right now) home alone. It's lonely, and I'm not the hugest fan, but if we can make money, it'll be fine! I've been creating boards and frames and things for our company, and I really love coming up with new, fun things. Heather and I will be doing a party for those of you who are interested in checking it all out. I promise I'll post some more detail about life in the next few days, but for now, here's some pictures!

Here's Jeni and Natalie when I finally got to see them at Christmas time! I love them!

PUT IT IN WRITING

For those of you who don't already know, Heather and I are starting our own little vinyl lettering company. We should be up and running with our cutter in a little over a week. If you're interested in buying anything let us know. These pictures are just some samples of things that can be done, but literally you can do ANYTHING you want. Any quote, saying, name in just the lettering, or we can make the boards with your quote if you want us to. The possibilities are endless. If you can type it, we can cut it!

Check out our new blog for more info, and also check out our website!

Elf??

For those of who are familiar with the movie Elf I'm sure you love it. Well it is a favorite at my house. Michael and I watch it often and quote it all of the time. Well I laughed out loud today when I saw an email from Michael. See, I sing to him a lot. Not real songs, but ones that I make up. I'll sing things instead of just speaking them, mostly when I'm hyper, which is quite often I have to admit. There are a few parts in Elf where he sort of does the same thing, so you can imagine how much we like these parts. Anyway, here is the email I got from Michael this morning.

"I'm singing...and I'm at my desk...and I'm siiiingiiiing....and guess what? - I love you!....I love you!...I loooove you!"

Can you not see why I love him so much! If you don't know this movie, this probably won't be funny at all, but I laughed right out loud!

Christmas Season 2006

Well since I've been getting into trouble for not posting, I thought I would do a huge massive one to tide everyone over for a while. Christmas was good, except for getting strep on Dec 22, and then a wicked cold on top of it. I didn't feel all that well for most of it, but I still had a wonderful time. We had so much fun with Heather and Gannon around, and we were together most of the time. It was an inlaw Christmas for my family, so we didn't see a lot of them. It's hard to be in the same city as everyone. You always miss out on something. We can't really complain though. We did tons of stuff, I got spoiled rotten (along with everyone else) and I loved every minute of being off of work for more than 2 weeks. It was wonderful and it gave me a taste of the life I'm missing being at work all day. I've got to remedy that somehow. Anyway, all of the pictures tell the story way better than I could. Hope everyone else had a wonderful Christmas, and fun New Year!

December 23rd

We went for a horse drawn wagon ride with the Palmer/Pratt clan. It was beautiful to be outside, and fun to be with everyone. We had hot chocolate, and then went to Blain and Linda Palmer's for some wonderful food.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve is always my favorite. The anticipation gets to me and I feel like such a kid. We had dinner at the Palmer's house and then went to see my family. We carried out our usual traditions. Reading the Nativity story and trying to see how many names the Savior is called. Always super fun for me. We then went back to the Palmer's and stayed the night there. We played a bunch of Nintendo Wii, and watched a movie until we fell asleep.

Christmas Day

Christmas Day was wonderful as usual. We all got spoiled, and we had a lot of fun. Michael and I always get 2 Christmas mornings with each family. This year was a away Christmas for my family so we spent most of the time with the Palmers this year.

New Years Eve

Well we had a blast for New Years. We ate a fantastic dinner at Kevin and Cyndi's, and then we got to go and visit with my parents and Erin and Scott and the kiddies, and then we went back to the Palmer's house for the rest of the evening. We had so much going on, it was a blast. First, we had a huge chocolate milk taste test (for all of the detail, checkout Heather's blog). Then we passed around the hats, noisemakers, and necklaces, and rang in the new year with some Martinelli's. I just can't believe it's 2007. Wow.

Highschool Girls night

I also got to see a bunch of my friends from...well life...over the break. This baby is Joslyn's second. Her name is Kaydence. She's a doll. The other girl holding her is Marika.

These are all of the girls I grew up with mostly. It was great fun to get the see them, even if it was just for a few hours.

Emily's Baby Shower

So Heather and I put together a small baby shower for Emily over the holiday. A bunch of her friends were in town so we wanted to make sure they could be there. Since we'd never done a shower before we hoped that Cyndi would be there to guide us, but since she was out of town, we were on our own. It was a little nerve racking, but I think all in all, it was good. The best part for me was the cake I made (with the help of Heather). I made a diaper cake, with baby wipe filling. It was so cute and worked well as the center piece.
